This is Danan’s first show of 2008. She will be performing acoustically at this coffee shop and artist studio in beautiful downtown Clinton. The show will be outside (weather permitting). Danan will be selling her new EP ’I Am’ with brand new songs for your listening pleasure!
Management has changed and they are canceling all shows for the next few months to regroup. Bummer. We will try to get a show for the fall once they resume the entertainment! Check back for details!

In 03, James Durham, an Annapolis based songwriter/producer, hired Danan to sing on his first full length CD titled Port of Embarkation. His project turned into somewhat of a collaboration which includes one original song of Danan’s, Hotel Room. There is a possibility of further collaboration.

23 Skadoo:
In 02, Danan joined the Baltimore based ska/rock group 23 Skadoo. With this group, she started writing and exploring her creative chops.

The US Army Field Band, The Soldiers’ Chorus, The Volunteers:
After Danan got her master’s degree in voice from ESM, she won the audition for the Soldiers’ Chorus, a component of The US Army Field Band, stationed at Ft. Meade, MD. During her 3 and a half years as a member of the alto section, she soloed for countless audience members all across the US and soloed with many symphony orchestras including The London Philharmonic, The Ravinia Festival Orchestra, and the Naples Pops Orchestra under the baton of Erich KunZel.
From the chorus, she was chosen to be the new frontwoman for the pop/rock/country group, The Volunteers. She toured for one year with them before she got out of the army in January of 05.
When Danan arrived in Rochester, she was finally ready to buckle down, study, and practice. She played Arsamenes in Handel’s Xerxes and Kathleen in Vaughn Williams’ Riders to the Sea. Oratorio work includes the alto soloist for Bach’s St. Mathew’s Passion and Haydn’s Theresienmesse. She was also a finalist in the Kurt Weill Competition and the Kneisel German Leider Competition.
David Burkman, a film maker based in DC saw Chillicothe and hired Dan and Danan to record some music for his short that airs on The Independent Film Channel and the Women’s Entertainment Channel.
Demo with Dan Rogers:
From the film came a great friendship and collaboration between the multi-talented Dan Rogers and Danan. They recorded a 4 song demo in 2001.

Danan was hired to do some tracks for this coming of age dramedy that showed well and got lots of attention at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. It can be found on line at Net Flix and at Hollywood Video.

In between parties, Danan played the role of Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and spent a semester in Paris.
